Pike and Game Angling Holidays

in Foxford Co Mayo

Kenny Sloan has been a fishing Guide in Foxford for over 35 years and has an in depth knowledge of the plethora of excellent waters that makes up co Mayo. Although widely accepted as the game fishing capital of Ireland there are plenty of good pike waters around Foxford that get very little angling pressure. I was down for the weekend with him and all the pictures are from the weekends fishing in this section

If you get in contact with Kenny he will arrange your complete stay and can arrange transfers from airports etc. He will sort you out one of the many friendly guest houses he knows. Whether you are a novice or more of an experienced angler there is something in Mayo to challenge you and you always leave with a tinge of sadness knowing what you are leaving behind. The peace and treanquility to be found in Mayo's countryside is some of the most beautiful in the whole of Ireland so your fishing break is sure to be memorable in more ways than one.

The fishing was fantastic the weekend I went down to stay with Kenny and I got a new personal best pike on a lure which weighed in at just short of 28lbs every fish we hooked seemed to be a monster and I came home with my arms aching and knew it wouldn't be long until I was back down to Mayo once more.

While I was down I stayed in Maloneys Fishing Lodge it was a very comfortable guest house with a very filling breakfast and the packed lunch they left out for me kept me full all day

One more of the reasons why my first stay in Mayo was so memorable! With fishing like this who wants to go home
